As a STEM teacher, I know how important it is to seek leadership roles and opportunities, seek to take responsibility for student learning, collaborate with learners, colleagues, and other school professionals, and to advance the profession. We do this to ensure that we are inspiring and guiding students to become responsible, scientifically-literate citizens. The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) established the following expectations and principles to guide the professional conduct of all preK-16 teachers of science.
